NatWest Card

Have you just received a new NatWest debit card? You need to activate it. This applies to all types of new NatWest debit cards, which must be activated for use. Now if you received the card in place of an expired one or as a replacement for an existing one, you may not need to activate it. However, if the new card comes with a replacement PIN, your card will need to be activated. The process of activating a NatWest card is different, depending on whether it is an international card or one based in the UK.

NatWest International

1. Online Activation

You can activate your new NatWest debit card by going to the company’s website. Of course, you will need to do so through the online banking application. It will be necessary that you first sign up for online banking. If you haven’t, go to the NatWest website. Click ‘Activate’ and enter the Activation Code and Customer Number. Only then will you be able to activate your new NatWest debit card. Here is the procedure:

Step 1. Log in to the online banking website at www.onlinebanking.natwestoffshore.com

Step 2. From the drop-down menu, select ‘Cards’ and wait.

Step 3. In this step, you will see the ‘Debit Cards’ option. Click on it followed by ‘Activate a New Debit Card’.

Step 4. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the card activation process.

2. Activation through a Text Message

Did you know that you can activate your NatWest card through a simple text message? You will have to send the following details to 0044-786-0009-061:

• Your account number
• Your shortcode
• The last four digits of the number appearing on the front of the card

Enter the numbers in succession leaving a space between every two successive numbers. To send the text message, you will be charged standard network rates.

3. Activation through the Phone

You can call any of the NatWest agents to have your card activated. You will be asked to provide your Activation Code and Customer Number. Use the following numbers:

• Jersey: +44-1534-282-850
• Guernsey: +44-1481-703-860
• Isle of Man: +44-1624-637-190
• Gibraltar: 00350-200-77737

You have to call these numbers between Monday and Friday, 7 am to 7 pm and on Saturday, 8 am to 1 pm. Know that your call could be recorded for future reference.

4. Activation through the Post

To take advantage of this option, you will have to send back the activation slip that was sent to you together with the debit card.

If the card you received is meant to replace an Online Banking Card, you don’t need to activate it. All replacement cards are already activated and ready for use.

NatWest UK

To activate your NatWest (UK) debit card, you have to go online. Here of the procedure:

Step 1. Go to www.nwolb.com and log in to your online banking account.

Step 2. Go to the main menu and click ‘Cards’.

Step 3. In the ‘Debit Cards’ section click ‘Activate a New Debit Card’.

Step 4. By following the on-screen instructions, you will have your card activated in an easy and simple way.
